This passionate cine craftsman has been associated with showbusiness since 1985, when he joined theatre group Ek Jyot & Prithvi theatres. Under the direction of Nadira Babbar, he acted in Chandarpur Ki Champa Bai & made his presence felt. Then under the direction of Satish Kaushik he participated in Rag Darbar and Us Par Ka Nazara. He is also the Producer and director of Chhammak Chhalo, the hi-voltage comedy.
The most applaudable acting of his acting career was Tamas and Manzil Apni Apni, produced by Govind Nihalani and Ashok Vishal, respectively. Sanjay Khan's Sword Of Tipu Sultan is also the mirror of his remarkable performance. Producer director Avtar Bhogal's film ' Aaj Ki Aurat' is yet another milestone of his brilliant performance. He himself is also proud of his performance in Ravindra Peepat's Lal Dopatta Malmal Ka.
'Su Raaj’ was the film which was shown at the Panorama Film Fetival 1988/87 and which was directed by Tanvir Ahmed, Santosh Gupta was the dialogue writer of the film, beside being the Assistant to Director Tanvir Ahmed.
